What’s New At Dreamworld: Park-Wide Upgrades, New Attractions and Fresh Family Experiences
For many Aussies, Dreamworld is a place of pure nostalgia – where childhood holidays on the Gold Coast meant racing from ride to ride, meeting your favourite characters and snacking on churros and ice cream.
If it has been a while since your last visit to Dreamworld, prepare to be blown away. In the last five years, Australia’s biggest theme park has undergone over $150 million renovation including new rides, themed worlds and park-wide upgrades, making it bigger, better and bolder than ever. Keep reading to find out what’s new at Dreamworld.
New Attractions
Thrillseekers, you’re in luck. Dreamworld’s line-up of adrenaline-pumping rides continues to grow, with Steel Taipan leading the charge. This multi-launch rollercoaster is not for the faint-hearted, with 1.2 kilometres of wild twists and four inversions at speeds of 105km/h.
The park has also unveiled Rivertown, a brand-new jungle-themed world with one-of-a-kind rides and dining experiences. The jewel of Rivertown is Jungle Rush, Australia’s first triple-switch rollercoaster. This groundbreaking ride combines forward, backward and sideways motion through an immersive jungle setting, making it one of the most exciting new rides in the country.
And while it’s not open just yet, adrenaline junkies are already buzzing about King Claw. Building on the legendary ride from the 2000s, this exhilarating swing takes you to staggering new heights, swinging further and faster than ever before. In fact, King Claw stretches 50% higher and races 50% faster than the original Claw!

Fresh Family Experiences
Of course, Dreamworld isn’t just about the thrill rides. Families with younger children will find plenty of fun waiting in Kenny & Belinda’s Dreamland. With a mix of colourful rides, shows and character meet-and-greets (including the Wiggles, Bananas in Pyjamas and Rat in a Hat), this vibrant area is designed with little adventurers in mind. Over at Ocean Parade, the good vibes continue with family-friendly roller coasters, carnival games, a splash zone and a lively beachside theme that catches the essence of the Gold Coast.
Meanwhile, animal lovers won’t want to miss the major upgrades to Tiger Island. Long a favourite among visitors, this iconic precinct now offers even more opportunities to see Dreamworld’s majestic tigers up close. From daily presentations to feeding experiences, Tiger Island is one of the most memorable things to do at Dreamworld.
Park-Wide Upgrades
Dreamworld’s transformation isn’t limited to new rides and attractions – the entire park has been refreshed as part of its $150 million upgrade program. For instance, foodies are in for a treat with elevated dining options that go beyond your typical theme park snacks. The star of the show is the all-new Jane’s Rivertown Restaurant, where hearty meals are served in an immersive setting surrounded by lush jungle scenery and lively animatronic animals – making dining here just as much an experience as the rides themselves.
Dreamworld has also invested heavily and accessibility and inclusivity. The Calming Cottage quiet room, developed in partnership with QLD Health, provides a soothing space for guests who may need a sensory break. Families with young children will also appreciate the revamped Parents Room, designed with comfort and convenience in mind. Together, these updates ensure that Dreamworld is a place where everyone can feel welcome and included.
